The rebuild

Built back. Still building.

I am Mike. I train, I compete with myself, and I film it. The MikeRebuilt name is literal: after serious heart problems, open-heart surgery and a double coronary bypass, I had to start over from the ground up.

Where it started

I did not plan on being a fitness creator. I planned on getting healthy. After serious cardiac problems, open-heart surgery and a double coronary bypass, the question was simple: what does the rest of my life look like? I decided it would include a gym.

Starting over

The first months back were about the basics. Walking. Light weight. Learning what my body could handle and taking the medical advice seriously. Progress was slow, then it was steady, then it became a habit I did not want to give up.

Bodybuilding after 40

Once the foundation was there, the goal changed from getting back to getting better. Strength training turned into bodybuilding: programmed sessions, tracked food, honest progress photos and a lot of patience. That is the part I film, because it is the part most people never see.

Coaching and Gainsheet

People started asking how. So I got certified, as a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and a NASM Certified Nutrition Coach, and started Rebuilt Athletics to coach online with real programs and real check-ins. I also built Gainsheet, the free app I use every day to track workouts, food and progress, because I wanted one that did not nickel and dime people.

What this is not

Not a transformation guarantee, not medical advice and not a highlight reel. Training did not fix my heart; surgeons did. What training gave me is a stronger, more capable body and a reason to keep showing up. If that sounds like what you need, follow along, and if you want help, Rebuilt Athletics is where I coach.
